When does the windscreen have to be replaced?
Whether a stone chip repair is enough or the glass has to be replaced depends on the type and size of the damage, its position in the driver's field of vision, the number of chips and the distance to the edge. We replace the windscreen if:
- the damage is in the driver's direct field of vision
- the damage is larger than a two-franc coin
- the damage is less than 10 cm from the edge of the glass
- a crack has formed or there are more than two stone chips

How the windscreen replacement works
Our entire workshop is in our service vehicles, the replacement takes 60 to 90 minutes, followed by 30 minutes of curing time.
All we need is a level spot that is as dry or covered as possible. In bad weather we use one of our more than 50 installation partners in Switzerland.
- Removal Careful removal of all attachments (wipers, sensors, trim, mirror).
- Cutting out Gentle cutting out of the old glass with our specially developed cutting wire, no paint damage.
- Preparation Cleaning and priming of the bonding surfaces on the body and the new glass.
- Fitting Application of the adhesive and precise fitting of the new windscreen.
- Reassembly & calibration Refitting of all parts, function test and calibration of the front camera with a report.
- Drive away After 30 minutes of safe drive-away time thanks to the latest windscreen adhesive, you are back on the road.

What does a windscreen replacement cost?
With partial or full comprehensive insurance (glass cover) your insurer pays; we settle directly and cover any deductible up to CHF 200. Without insurance the price depends on the vehicle model and equipment (sensors, head-up display, camera), you receive a transparent, no-obligation quote from us.
How long does the windscreen replacement take?
Usually 60 to 90 minutes. The more technology is built in (rain/light sensor, head-up display, camera for driver assistance systems), the more complex the replacement. Afterwards the safe drive-away time is 30 minutes.
What should I bear in mind after the replacement?
In the first 24 hours after the replacement you should not wash the vehicle, not put it on a lift and not park on high kerbs so that the adhesive can cure completely.
Does the camera have to be calibrated after the windscreen replacement?
Yes. On vehicles with lane-keeping, emergency braking or adaptive cruise control the camera sits behind the windscreen. After the replacement we calibrate it according to the manufacturer's specifications, statically or dynamically, and document this with a calibration report.
